Waxing calendrical

The Mayan calendar of 9 August 2005 is probably one of the more well-known circles having been in the media.  There have been many guesses at what it refers to.  Here is my take: it represents again 28 November 2012.

(Bear in mind that in 2005 when the circle was formed, it was not a leap year so 332 was accurate at that point in time.)

On 28 November this year sunset at 53N 0 32W is at 1552 and sunrise at 0749, almost exactly 16 hours as represented by the 16 "feathers" on the left of centre.  If you think of the calendar as a clock-face then the opening in the crescent is pointing to around 4pm.  Then there are the numbers 21 27 14 and 21.  What could they refer to?

On 28 November the declination of the sun at 1636 is -21 degrees 27 minutes and 14 seconds.  At 1651, one hour after sunset it is -21 degrees 27 minutes and 21.14 seconds.

(Now, the declination of the sun changes very slowly through the year and like a 12 hour clock the same "time" happens only twice in a year, once in the positive and once in the negative. Therefore the chances of these numbers all coming together coincidentally is quite unlikely.)

To prove the point, I placed the circle on a star map.
The tramlines run directly into "planets".  The "breach" or hole at around 10 o'clock points directly to Uranus.  The crescent is open towards where the sun is.

It all seems to fit, doesn't it?

Places and dates

It was this formation that got me interested in crop circles and trying to understand them.  It seems to have a dual purpose: it seems to give space-time coordinates.
Firstly the time: 28 November 2012 if the "blobs" represent an alignment on that day.
That didn't seem to be the whole picture, though.  The circles at the bottom hadn't been taken into consideration.

It took a while to "lock" it in.  The squares just didn't seem to fit and obviously needed to be included in any calculations as well.  The "blob" which has been called an unidentified object by many needed to also play its part.

Eventually it clicked, once I remembered that it was a UK crop circle and that if it contained a location, it was likely to be on British soil.

The UK starts at around 50 degrees North, which is a line in the Channel.  The vertical circles start with "5", which suggested 50 to me.  We are looking at a latitude and longitude, I thought.  It didn't seem such a bad idea to put it in the context of a map.

I'll leave you to work out how it fits together.  But, as you see, it looks like 53 N 0 32 W is the answer, just as in my last post with the crop formation forming numbers.

Here's another crop circle and map...

Now why would anyone want to highlight somewhere in the middle of nowhere unless something significant were going to happen?

Here is another "date" formation: 28 November 2012, again.

Survival of the fittest?

"If you were an alien and you knew that the planet you were watching was about to be destroyed (except for the smallest part) and you couldn't save all the inhabitants, what would you do?"

It is an interesting problem and I think the crop circles play a part in the answer.

What if, say, there were to be a coronal mass ejection from the sun on the night of 28 November (UTC) which will engulf the planet except for a tiny part measuring no more than 350 square miles?  It would be directly opposite the impact point and protected by the curvature of the planet.

It would be altruistic to save as many as possible, but that small area can only only support a limited number of people.  Who do you choose?  Answer: you don't.  You let them choose themselves.  Those who are intelligent and inquisitive will connect the crop circles, resolve the puzzle and move to the safe location indicated.  The fittest would survive.

I have an inkling that this is what has happened.  Over 50 formations I have studied suggest 28 November 2012, 53 N 0 32 W as space-time coordinates.  It was the following graphic that suggested to me what the implication could be.  It is the "Mayan Head Dress" of Wiltshire.

This is what would happen theoretically if there were a coronal mass ejection (CME) from the sun towards the Earth.  A small proportion of the planet might be exempt from the solar material.

It would seem that the artist thinks that there would be such a "safe zone".

How come 28 November 2012?  Here are my thoughts:

If the “feathers” in the head-dress are a binary code, the numbers stack up thus:
10 = 2
100 = 4
10 = 2
100 = 4
1010 = 10
10000 = 16
110100 = 52 (weeks in a year)
110100 = 52 (weeks in a year)
10000 = 16
100 = 4
100 = 4
100 = 4
100 = 4
10 = 2

This totals 176.

These can be regarded as weeks as there are seven smaller feathers at the top of the formation.

The circle was reported 5 July 2009.  5 July 2009 + 176 weeks = 18 November 2012.

There are then ten segments apparently representing days or Maya time periods taking us to… 28 November 2012.

28 November 2012 is the 333rd day of the year, with 33 days remaining.  The three “dots” before the segments could represent 33 days to the end of the year.  On that day there is the second lunar eclipse of the year.  It is a penumbral type.  You can see that an eclipse of some type appears to be happening at the time by the crescent shapes.

There are three pairings of 'planets' that night also: Saturn with Venus, Jupiter with the Moon and Pluto with Mars.

There are seven smaller feathers on each side and 14 big ones.  14+7+7 = 28 (for 28 November), coincidentally?

There are a number of other crop formations that suggest the same thing.  I'll include them in my next posting.

In the meantime, start to check yourself for connections with 28 November 2012 and the coordinates I mentioned.

Here is an obvious example:

All the best.

This is my first blog posting on the topic, but over the last couple of months I have been connecting a number of crop circles.  Here is my first posting of some of my findings.  I hope you find them as intriguing as I have doing the analysis.

This first graphic is from a circle from Avebury Manor, 22 July, 2008.  Many have associated it with 23 December 2012.  It appears that might not be the case.  I have mapped the circle with an earlier date of 28 November 2012...  This is not the first circle I have come across connected with this date, but it is a good place to get started.

So, what do we have?

The centre image is the crop circle.  To the left is the sky on 28 November 2012 from the location 53N 0 32W (just outside a small village in Lincolnshire, UK).  It is widely held that the circle represents the solar system on 23 December 2012.  The only problem with that is that

  1. Pluto is in the wrong place
  2. The object at the bottom with its three companions is unexplained
  3. There is no connection with the four stars in the upper right.
  4. There is no connection with the other "stray" objects in the formation.
This appears to resolve that.  It is the solar system, but as viewed from Earth with the planets positioned according to their solar system places.  Venus and Saturn appear together in the sky chart, but in the crop circle they are positioned in second and sixth place.  The moon is replaced with the Earth and is close to conjunction with Jupiter.  Mars is in line with Pluto.

The "rogue" stars all fall into place.

Neptune is slightly out of place, but there is a "spot" in the orbit of Uranus which appears to correct that.

The object with the three companions at the bottom is in fact the sun and three stars (including Antares).

The star formation near Uranus is interesting.  It is exactly as the circle states.

It would appear that any event expected around 21-23 December 2012 is somewhat tardy.  We are probably looking at 28 November, based on the above.

What the event might be, I will approach later.

In the meantime, here is another 28 November 2012 crop circle, it would seem.

Note how the circle at the top has three smaller circles above it, one of which is surrounded by another circle and a dot?  These are the planets Mercury, Venus and Earth with her moon.  The fourth circle is Mars, the fourth planet in the solar system.
