A piece of pi

This crop circle from Barbury Castle (1 June 2008) represents the first ten digits of Pi: 3.141592654 and was in much of the British press.  It was an astrophysicist who made the connection.  I wonder if he made this connection too?

It was cited as being a masterpiece because multiples of the same angle (36 degrees) were used.  I wondered why 36 degrees.  After all, the artist could have used other numbers just as well like 18 and 72 (half and double).

Note the tramline running across the centre.  It intersects with the numbers 5, 6, 9 and 4 on one side and 5, 9, 6 and 4 on the other.  Both sides add to 24 (as in hours in a day) which made me wonder if it signified a date.

It does, so it seems.

The star chart is of 28 November 2012 at 23:11 at 53N 0 32W.  The "ratchets" align with the planets, moon and sun.  The "decimal point" aligns perfectly with the Winter solstice.  The yellow tramline aligns perfectly with the horizon.  The "path" (in pink) aligns with Neptune and also intersects with the 33rd "segment" (of which there are 40) of 36 degree angles.  28 November has 33 days after it to the end of the year.

The circle was reported as being 150 metres or 494 feet in diameter.  That makes a radius of 247 feet.  The sun's ecliptic coordinates on this day at this time are 247 degrees 8 minutes, 0 degrees.  The sun is at 247 degrees only one day a year.  This year it is 28 November.

The circles measured 516 inches (centre), 416 inches, 320 inches and 200 inches in diameter.

516 inches is exactly 43 feet.  That makes a radius of 21.5 feet; the declination of the sun at 23:11 on 28 November 2012 is exactly -21 degrees 30 minutes.

416 inches is 34.67 feet.  That gives a radius of 17.33 feet.  At 23:11 the azimuth of the sun will be -17 degrees 20 minutes.

320 inches is 26.67 feet or a radius of 13.33 feet.  The altitude of the sun at sunset on 28 November 2012 at 1551 GMT is 13 minutes 20 seconds.

200 inches is 16.67 feet or a radius of 8.33 feet.  At 16:43:48 the altitude of the sun will be -8 degrees 20 seconds.  This is exactly the same time as I mentioned in a previous post with another crop circle which had the declination of sun at 21 degrees 27 minutes:

If we add these to the diagram we have the following:

Look at the three circles on the outer edge.  The number 6 starts where Venus is and attaches itself to the third circle (marked "Solar Event") if counting from the largest downwards.  As we saw in a previous post, the estimated time of the event is six hours after Venus.  This ties in with that.

It certainly isn't as easy as pi to swallow...

Pinpointing the place?

To date all references have been to 53N 0 32/33W.  This formation on 2 June 2012 seems to qualify that and offer a more accurate location.  Rounding to the nearest degree and minute would give us the numbers we have been working with already.

The date seems to corroborate: 2/6/12.  2x3=6, 6x2=12 giving the 32.  If we represent 2 and 6 on a clock they become 10 minutes and 30 minutes.  Add these together and to the 12 gives 52.  The 10 and the 30 give the 40' as well.  That is convenient.  But if we represent the 12 as 60 then that makes a total of 100 minutes.  52°40'45" + 100 minutes is 54°0'45".  That is way off the mark.

If one adds 52+45+40+0+32+10 the result is 179.  2 June 2012 + 179 days is 28 November 2012.  That fits.

All that said, this crop formation makes me uneasy as to date it has been quite clear that 53N and 0 32/33W are the coordinates.  Perhaps it was for ease as they lend themselves more to geometric shapes and only at the last minute do we get precise coordinates.  The date is 2/6/12: 12 is 6+6... That's three 6s, which isn't a good sign.

Another formation from this year seems to explain the difference in coordinates:
If the tramlines represent one degree, then each circle represents 10 minutes.  The upwards tentacles span exactly a tramline width.  Each tentacle downwards represents a minute because 1/60 as a percentage is 1.67.  The lower tentacles stretch across one tramline and then two thirds of a tramline.  This image appears to represent 33 minutes.  The lower ‘diamond’ is amongst the tentacles west of the other: 33 minutes west.

So, that seems to reconcile the difference in the coordinates: there are actually two safety zones, it seems, or one safety zone and these are the extremities.  Personally I prefer the latter.

Connecting with the past

This crop formation seems to connect both 28 November 1969 with the same date in 2012.  We saw the upper part in an earlier post pointing to the latter.

The arc of planets on 28 November 1969 matches identically with the arc of markings in the lower circle.  The inner planets are also mentioned as are the position of the sun and moon.

Here is another 1969 formation:

And finally, just to throw in some obscurity, this is Stonehenge, which is over 3000 years old (hence the connecting with the past reference), appearing to map to 28 November 2012:

Could Stonehenge have been the first "circle" to warn of what might happen on 28 November?  It would certainly defy what we are told about our ancestors because it appears to make reference to Uranus and Neptune which were not discovered then.  That said, there are apparently Sumerian texts which describe the Solar System in its entirety, so it is possible that our ancestors predicted an eruption on the sun and left Stonehenge as a warning.  Since then the knowledge has been lost.  Or it was built by the crop circle artists.
(Of course, it could just be coincidental, but if so what are the chances?)

Timings

Here is another formation that seems to deal in timings and the event.  Firstly the numbers add to 28 if I have interpreted them correctly.  The positions of the circles certainly match up with the planets on that date.

If there is an explosion on the sun, then this implies that Venus will be impacted after an hour, the Earth after six and Mars after 18.  This ties in with our previous "Event Timetable" formation.

This formation also contains the date and timings, but more subtly:

The triangle in the centre is made of three figure "7"s telling us it is a date/time formation.  There are three triangles including the space in the centre, each with three sides: 3-3-3, the 333rd day of the year.

The shape is not uniform, despite its appearance.  Where 11pm and 12am are marked, the scrolling squares are actually slightly bigger so that 11 rather than 12 touches the triangle point.  We can then apply sunrise and sunset on 28 November 2012 which is at 0800 GMT and 1600 GMT give or take a couple of minutes.

Note also that the tramlines intersect the inner circle at 2, 8, 11 and 12: 28/11/12.  The line joining 12pm and 11pm also represents 2300 as 12+11=23.

The uppermost tramline runs through 3pm to 8pm with the midway between 5 and 6pm.  This coincides with the other circles which suggest an event on the sun around this time.

Finally look at the tramlines as they cross the central triangles. The lowest makes an "=" or a pair of "-", representing "2".  The upper makes "= = = =" which represents "8": 28, our date.

Again, it all seems to fit perfectly.  Alarmingly so.

Let's take a look at a formation from this year.  It was one of the last:
It shares the same "safety zone" icon that we saw previously.  So, if we take that to also represent the lunar eclipse on the 28th we can position the circle so that it is more representative of Earth and reflects what is happening in the sky as well.

Opposite the lunar eclipse and the Moon/Jupiter conjunction is the Mars/Pluto pairing.  In the Northern Hemisphere at 2300 GMT it has set along with the Sun.  In the Southern Hemisphere, however, it is high in the sky, with the Sun.

It is here that the object on the bottom right is heading towards.

It makes sense re the position of the safety zone and explains why there would be one, it seems.

Connecting with the past

On 23 July 1991 a farmer in Grasdorf, Germany awoke to find one of the largest crop circles in his field.  A few days later a visitor discovered three plates beneath it, one in bronze, one in silver and one in gold.  They bore the insignia of the crop formation.

It so happens that this crop formation is of the planets on 28 November 1969.  It appears the artists have created a kind of cross-reference to the same date in 2012.

The bronze plate had indents in it which have been interpreted as being of stars.  Close.  They appear to be of the planets on a certain date.  Which date?  You guessed it: 28 November 2012.
There are other formations which tie into 28 November 1969 that I have come across.  Here are a few:

This formation, like Grasdorf, seems to connect the two dates:

The mark inside what appears to be Saturn represents 1.5.  An orbit of Saturn is 30 years, give or take, so this is around 45 years later.  (From 1969 to 2012 is 43 years for those who don't like counting.)
(Where I've used the word "static", it is relative to its previous position on 28 November 1969.)

Again, this formation seems to bridge the two dates.  Above we see the "alignment" of the five planets south of the Sun and the renegade Neptune which doesn't form part of any formation.
Below: joining like with unlike maps to the sky for 28 November 2012.

The event

There are a number of crop formations which suggest an event on the sun impacting with the Earth:
This suggests to me that the sun will emit a coronal mass and that six hours after it has done so the matter will hit the Earth, the third planet.
The above seems to show the same thing with the mass appearing to come from the direction of Venus downwards towards the Southern constellations; ie the Southern part of the planet.

In the top image to the right which we looked at in more detail, Neptune appears to be setting when the event happens.  Neptune sets at 2239 GMT on 28 November 2012.  This is pretty close to the 2300 GMT I mentioned in an earlier posting.  Sunset is at 1600 GMT meaning that an explosion of the sun, if it is to take 6 hour to reach the Earth will be at 1700 GMT.

This ties in with the following illustration.

If one thinks of the rings inside as being a 12 hour clock, the sunset is at 4pm, the explosion on the sun at 5pm and impact at 11pm, 20 minutes after Neptune has set.  The six pointed star represents 60 minutes and 6 hours from explosion to impact.  The triangle and the three markings at 4, 8 and 12 represent 333, the 333rd day of the year, 28 November 2012.

More place circles

When I first saw this circle it reminded me of the UK.  It turns out it is probably only part of the UK: Lincolnshire, to be precise, judging from the way the circles are arranged.  Again we have the co-ordinates 52N 0 32W, it would seem.

The following formation is a part of a bigger one which we will look at later.

Again, it is reminiscent of a map of the UK.  And of course, it was formed on British soil, so there's no reason to discount the possibility.
From the meridian to the Welsh coast is 5 degrees.  The formation is divided into 5.  The fifth rectangle on the right is greener than the others and appears to have a thicker border.  This is where 53N 0 32W would be if the line along the top of the "squares" is the 53rd parallel. It certainly seems to tie in with a map of the UK.

Finally a more "fun" one.
